Guitar Villains “Where Live Music and Karaoke Collide!”

Rules for Oct 9th 2010

• There will be no song repeats. All songs are on a first chosen, first awarded basis. Get your song choice in early!
• All songs are from the Guitar Villians song catalog. There will be no special requests for this show.
• Singer must be present during the announcement of winners to claim prize.
• All singers must sign-in (sign-in sheet will be on the high table after you walk in the door) by 9:00 pm the night of the show. If you fail to check in, we could fill your spot with someone else.
• Please notify Guitar Villians by email guitarvillians@live.com or 720.366.0781 no less than 48 hours before the show if you are unable to attend. This will help us fill the spot with someone from the waiting list.
• Please do not bring any of your own instruments to play on stage. Props are encouraged, remember, stage presence is a big part of your score!!
• You will not need your own microphone or monitor as all sound equipment is provided.
• Singers are welcome change their song if the new song is available. No changes will be made the final week before the show.
• You must pick up your tickets and fliers from Guitar Villians or at Herman’s Hideaway. The minimum requirement is for all singers to draw at least ten or more people. One of the scoring factors is guest attendance so more will help your score. This was disclosed during your agreement at sign up.
• Have FUN! This is friendly competition. Enjoy yourself!
• Guitar Villians does not have any influence or say in the final decision for any prizes awarded. The judging criteria are the same for everyone.

Prizes

• $100 – Best Vocals – average of “vocal scores” from the judge panel.
• $100 – Best Stage Presence – average of “stage presence” scores from the judge panel.
• $100 – Biggest Crowd Draw – decided by your ticket count at the door.
• $500 – Best Overall – decided by a combination of the vocals score, stage presence score (both determined by an average from the panel of local celebrity judges), ticket draw score (See formula), and crowd score (10 tables will have Olympic style scorecards and the scores will be added up and then an average score is determined). The maximum number of points you can score will be 35. See score outline below.

There will be 4 winners. No one person can win more than 1 category.

• Judges Panel: Average of scores from all judges in each category below –
• Vocals – 1-10 points
• Stage Presence – 1-10 points
• Crowd Scorecards: Average of all 10 Scorecards from around Bar
• 5-10 points
• Ticket Count:
• 10 tickets – 1 point
• 15 tickets – 2 points
• 20 tickets – 3 points
• 25 tickets – 5 points

In the event of a tie, crowd applause will determine the winner.
