The biography of Kevin Russell "a true guitar man."
Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter/Record Producer

Kevin is a contemporary artist known in hip musical circles and by fans worldwide. He is a provocative player and his daring spirit is always apparent.
Long-time friends, other artists, and fans all seem to share a common view - you can feel Kevin's heartbreaks, struggles and triumphs when he plays. It connects us all to the music!

Kevin formed the classic rock band 707. Taking the music industry by storm, he scored rock radio classics such as "I Could Be Good For You" and "Megaforce". 707 toured and played arenas throughout the 80's. After calling 707 quits, Kevin joined forces with Bill Kreutzman and the late Brent Midland (Grateful Dead) to form Kokomo. They played sold-out show after sold-out show all over the U.S.

Next, Kevin got together with (Stray Cats) Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker, along with (David Bowie) guitarist, Earl Slick. The band scored an MTV heavy rotation favorite, "Men Without Shame". Kevin toured and recorded with the band, but left the band to join forces with Clarence "The Big Man" Clemons (Bruce Springsteen's E St. Band). Shortly thereafter, the two musical philanthropists put together a record and touring band and hit the road. as The Red Bank Rockers. Playing sell out shows across the U.S. and Europe these shows would often feature special guests like; Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Jackson Brown, Jon Bon Jovi,& Ritchie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Levon Helm (The Band), Dr. John…to name a few. Good times and even better music!

When not playing to massively sold-out crowds, Kevin was also doing plenty of recording sessions and making records with other artists as a much "sought-after guitarist." Namely David Coverdale's Whitesnake while working side by side on many records with producer Mike Clink (of Guns & Roses fame.)

Kevin is considered a very soulful guitar player as well as a singer/songwriter and record producer. So he decioded to use that soul to produce music for TV & film all the while still concentrating on playing & recording contemporary blues.
Kevin produced several blues/rock recordings for guitar legends; Rick Derringer, Leslie West, Pat Travers, Glenn Hughes , Steve Lukather, Rickey Medloc,ZakkWylde and many more....

In 2005 Kevin's CD "My Generation" was the #1 most added CD on smooth jazz & soul radio across the nation for 8 weeks in row!

Having recently finished over 380 shows in the cast of the Broadway Smash Hit Show "Jersey Boys" (NYC on Broadway & San Francisco's Curran Theater)
Kevin is now back doing what he loves to do most and that is playing his style of contemporary rock-blues "live" in support of the new releases
"Soul Generation" & " Kevin Russell Collections Vol. 1".
Kevin had a song featured in this summers' block buster film "Grown Ups" starring Adam Sandler.

Today, Kevin has his own record label, Guitar Slinger Records, and, state-of-the-art, digital recording studio. As a solo artist Kevin has many cd’s released and they keep coming!

Kevin is always blending the ever important “feel good” bluesy rhythms, with soulful melodies, and delivers it with “motor city” attitude.

With his first professional performance at the tender age of 10, Kevin's musical career has covered an enormous amount of ground. From Broadway in the 6 Tony Award winning hit show musical “ Jersey Boys”. Touring stadiums throughout the hedonistic 80’s as a founding member of Casablanca recording classic rock band “707” [sharing the bill with acts such as: Ted Nugent, Loverboy, The Scorpions, Rainbow , John Mellencamp, 38 Special, Judas Priest, & REO
Speedwagon] to name a few..

Kevin has performed and/or recorded with artists as diverse as Rick Derringer, Pat Travers, Leslie West, Steve Hunter, Greg Bissonette, Zakk Wylde, Steve Lukather, Clarence Clemons (E St. Band), Peter Criss (Kiss), Levon Helm (The Band), Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Slim Jim & Lee Rocker (The Stray Cats), Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Bruce Springsteen, Earl Slick (David Bowie), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), and more…
The Humbuckers
The Humbuckers
One of Denver’s most exciting live bands, The Humbuckers never fails to get people up and dancing. With more than 25 shows under their belt at Herman’s Hideaway, The Humbuckers are road-tested Rock & Rollers with a high-octane set list and a V-8 delivery.

“They sound like the mix on my iPod” is a frequent comment you hear after seeing a Humbuckers show. They seamlessly roll songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s into each other to create a tapestry of sound.

Founded in 2003 by guitarist Chuck Montera, their lineup includes Pamela Crawford on vocals, Classically trained Glenn Martin on bass, multi-instrumentalist Leslie Draper Roy on sax, flute and guitar and drummer Rick "Boom Boom" Samuels. Their originals are influenced by Punk and Grunge of the 80s/90s.

So next time you’re in Denver, stop by Herman’s Hideaway on south Broadway. You may be lucky enough to catch a Humbuckers show and maybe even share a beer or three with the band.
