25 years after starting his full fledged music career with The Samples, Sean Kelly continues to delight fans with music that transcends genres, age and shatters the rules of the established music industry. Throughout his career, Sean has been the driving influence of 20 albums and over 1 million records sold.
Sean started playing guitar at age 16 listening to Neil Young, Rolling Stones and Jackson Browne. Those influences mixed with his own poignant and timeless lyrics, a unique and striking voice and a mind for melodies led to songs like Little Silver Ring, Feel Us Shaking and Wild River. For many fans, these aren't new songs or old songs, but anthems to their lives that represent the first time they met their wife or the joys of their times at college.
The Samples are more than a band - they represent a culture of fans and music that go beyond who happens to be playing in the band at any given time. There have been many members of The Samples, but Sean Kelly has been the consistent factor throughout all of the changes.
Sean's journeys across America have taken place in rental cars, tour buses and pickup trucks that would have literally taken him to the moon and back over the last quarter of a century. There is a lot of music in store in 2012 and beyond from Sean Kelly and The Samples.
SOLAR (Alternative Rock/Pop), a formulation that sparked back in the fall of 2002, back when Bill Clarke and Ken Lee were sharing some new original ideas that Ken had wrote. While both were playing in another local Denver band, Bill and Ken continued to write and develop the sound of SOLAR. SOLAR debuted with their first show at a Colorado gem, Little Bear Saloon, in Evergreen CO on September 28th, 2004. Since then, they have been featured at many great Colorado venues, events and festivals, and private parties. They have a very loyal fan base and continues to build new following. Their music composition is mainly based on emotional and melodic vocals, with a pace-groove driven type of rhythm. In 2007 they released their first full length CD, SOLAR - RUN. Instrumentation on this project was kept at the foundation of Drums, Bass, and Guitar. They wanted to keep things raw and somewhat "un-super engineered". 2010 has brought a couple of "key" new additions to SOLAR, Vanessa Vanzin on Piano and Chris Moots on Bass. New growth, energy, and inspiration is well and developing into something new and exciting!
'color' is - Culture enriched by music…and that is our goal. Formerly, 'The Mighty Small,' Colorado's band, 'color', is the quintessential (!) five person group for all of Denver's best music digs and personal events. Fortuitously formed in the heart of Denver, 'color' is a manifestation of diverse musical backgrounds, ranging from drum circles in rural Uganda, to classical orchestral performances on big stages around the US. We flavorfully dovetail our sounds into a combination of 'indie-funk-folk-jazz,' that is great for breakin' in your Friday Night Dancin' Shoes. In addition to the pure joy we get from playing music together, we can't resist the tickle of seeing people brought together as the result of our emanating soundomones. In this way, 'color' is – Community. See you soon!
Sweet Ball Peen
Formed in 2002, born of 4 lead guitar players and one lonely drummer, evolved of keyboards, backup drummers, decoy congas, and unfortuante squirrels, Sweet Ball Peen will not fit in your tool box! We are Genghis (vocals/guitar), Stetz (vocals/guitar), Zach (bass), and Kevin (drums). Our music is rock & roll, all original, alright. We have been also Bob (bass, guitar, vocals), Olaf (keyboards & pharmaceuticals), Sherpa (psycho-slide guitar), TJ (drums & midnight mountain bike stunts), and Arne (drums-a-plenty). Enjoy the songs (special thanks to Ron at The Walnut Room - Denver), download as you please, and we will be happy to see you at our next show!
