I grew up in Jackson, MS. Waking up, strumming, writing, and being a vulnerable teenager to the harsh world of private school living. After that, went to the University of Miss. where I enjoyed strumming, writing, and playing with a great band in Oxford, MS called Freeman's Ride. After college, I moved to Nashville, TN. where I stopped playing music and decided to live in the world of normality. I soon realized that I was not normal, so I had to return to my passion of strumming, writing , and playing for various adventures. One was Disney. One was a band called ESKRA. And so on. After my quick one year adventure to Nashville, I moved to Destin, FL. Here I enjoyed strumming, writing, and playing cover songs for your listening pleasure at world famous Hogs Breath Saloon. During the summer of 2003 I wrote my first album "Brand New Something". At this time I started frequently playing at a bar called Funky Blues Shack. In the Spring of 04 a friend of mine, Diana Deprisco, sent my album to Peter Malick. Peter is a songwriter/guitarist/producer in the LA area. He has done works with many artist one being Norah Jones. Peter decided that he wanted to do an album with me, so we started working on my latest album " Starting Ground". We did a majority of the recording in the summer of 04 and the summer of 05. We recorded the album at The Green Room recording studio. It has some outstanding musicians on the album. It has Butch Norton who was the drummer from the EELS, Phil Parlapiano who is the keyboard player for John Prine, Chris Chaney who was the bassist for Janes Addiction, and Peter Malick on mandolin and lap steele. Towards the end of my stay in Destin, my shows were getting busier and busier because of some extremely loyal locals and people from out of town. I felt like it was time to move away and start over. Drastic changes were to come. In 2006, I moved to Loveland, CO where I worked during the day at Best Buy, and I played shows around town every once in a while. I sure would have liked to play more, but at that moment I was taking things step by step. The shows started to get better, and my album was getting closer to release. There were many more changes to come. In the summer of 2006 I was named best guitar player in Colorado at the 2006 Guitars on Fire Competition. From there, my shows started to pick up even more and I was playing quite a bit. My lines were getting longer to hear my originals. In the winter of 2006, I was asked to play for the season at Copper Mountain Ski Resort Wednesday thru Saturday. At that time, I would play my shows up in the mountains and then come down and play shows in the Fort Collins area. Lucky Joes was and still is my favorite place to play. I love everyone who supports me at those shows. They are crazy groups of people and I love them all. Currently, I have moved to the Denver area where I am playing a good amount getting ready for my album to drop in September. I am currently looking for musicians to get this train a rolling. It is not the easiest thing to do. All I am looking for is a bass player, a solid drummer, and maybe some keys. I know it will all come together. Please come and show some support by screaming out an original. Thanks for stopping by. More news to come.

Ryan Chrys & Friends (of Demon Funkies)
Genre: Country, Singer/Songwriter
Recommended if you like: Shooter Jennings, Zac Brown Band, Ryan Bingham, Dawes
Live show: High energy, rockin' country with a truck load of tone and soul.
Influences: Johnny Cash, Jack White, Brad Paisley, The Black Keys, Willie Nelson
Born and raised on a ranch outside Missoula, Montana, Ryan's first audience were mountains, rivers and cattle. When he was old enough to play electric guitar the cattle spooked and ran and the mountains seemed ambivalent so Ryan headed towards the bright lights.
Today, Ryan is a respected name in the Colorado music scene. For the last 10 years he's cut his teeth as lead guitarist for award winning Colorado bands and singer/songwriters. Doing so lead him to being direct support opening for such diverse acts as Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Along the way he's also shared the stage with notable Colorado acts including The Fray and The Flobots and continues to perform as lead guitarist for Colorado favorite Angie Stevens & The Beautiful Wreck.
Playing to full houses at venues like Red Rocks, Milwaukee's Summerfest, The Fillmore Auditorium, L.A.'s legendary Roxy Theater, and San Diego's Belly Up taught Ryan at a young age the caliber of performance needed to succeed on the road.
In Colorado, his dedication as band leader lead him to winning a Westword Music Showcase Award (division of Village Voice) and 4 total nominations as well as acclaim in countless articles, press and spins in major media and radio across the Midwest. Ryan released his first solo album as a singer/songwriter, The Ambivalent Justice Of..., in April of 2011, later that year his single "Thank You" featuring friend and former band-mate Aubrey Collins climbed high on the European country charts via a spot on an international compilation and eventually peaked highest in Italy at number 7.
A Lick and a Promise, his sophomore album due out in the fall of 2012 was recorded in Nashville at the studio of Troy Lucketta of Tesla with producers and session players who have recorded and toured with both Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley.
Ryan continues to gain new fans and praise as he performs at festivals and venues across the Midwest. His upcoming album is stated to be his best work to date and the perfect next step as a rising songwriter seeking to find the sound that will define him. These days the cattle don't run, they moo in harmony and buck in circles.
