Night. Driving. Country and western and juke joint songs on the radio. Making good times and thinking about what's left behind, what's ahead. Stopping early light for gas, a moment looking at a stranger, smiles and waves and then you're leaving, down the road again past the Last Chance...
Justin Bank
Justin Bank
Justin Bank might pose a bit of a conundrum for music writers who like to put singer-songwriters and their bands in neat “categories" or genres.

There are a few descriptive phrases, however, that definitely fit the bill when it comes to this seasoned musician: He's a gifted singer, songwriter and guitarist with a quirky-yet-infective sense of humor; and his updated roots-rock-flavored music has a broad variety of influences, but they all feel like, well, home.

That's because his lyrics tell stories of people you know, places you've been and situations you've likely witnessed — with a lyrical flow and feel that will remind you of a classic story-song, but featuring a decidedly "Americana” thread running throughout.

And if you're like most fans of good songwriting and classic country and perhaps grew up on the likes of Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, Big Star, the Velvet Underground and many others, you will likely be drawn in by the sounds of Bank's music, with its energetic, vintage-rock, back-to-basics feel. These tunes will inspire you and make you want to dance, take a train and soak in the scenery, or drive down that country highway just a little faster —with the top down and the stereo blaring.

It's that kind of movement and inspiration that has taken Bank and his former band mates in such groups as Southern-born SFZ, Free Love Virgins and the Royal Electric, as well as Colorado's The Beauregards to stages across the country.

A 2007 Rotary International scholarship and ensuing tour throughout Eastern France was the catalyst that drove Bank to begin playing various music venues in earnest after a multiple year hiatus from the music business. Since moving to Northern California in 2012 he is now expanding out from his Southern home to build a fan base throughout the Pacific Northwest with his ever increasing band of experienced and talented musicians.
The Gliff
The Gliff
Relapse is living proof that Rock & Roll never dies. The group has been together since the fall of 2001. It started as a bunch of long-time friends getting together for basement jams which jelled into a band whose members have a passion for playing music. Relapse is comprised of independent professional musicians that have a long history of performing, including members who’s bands have performed with concert bands such as KISS, Scorpions, Alice Cooper, BTO, Music Explosion, Jimmy Gilmore and the Fireballs, The Young Rascals, Soul Survivors, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue and Van Halen...just to name a few, and have played all over the country.

Songs include selections from artists such as 3 Doors Down, 38 Special, Bad Company, Billy Idol, Billy Squire, Black Crows, Blue Oyster Cult, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Clutch, Collective Soul, Def Leppard, Don Henley, Doors, Duke Jupiter, Golden Earing, Grand Funk, Jethro Tull, Journey, Little Feat, Maroon 5, Molly Hatchet, Pearl Jam, REO Speedwagon, Robert Palmer, Robin Trower, Train, Nickleback, Brooks & Dunn, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Cheap Trick, Santana, Stevie Ray, Toto, Van Halen, Wilson Pickett, with funk, power rock, and jazz influences.

Relapse plays at local venues such as Herman’s Hideaway, the Buffalo Rose, the Little Bear Saloon, Nissi’s, Platte River Grille, the Toad Tavern, the Old Mill, and at various festivals in the Denver area. Relapse’s live performances have energized the band and audiences alike. Those who have heard the band play keep coming back for more and more.

Relapse is primarily a family friendly band with songs diverse enough for every person in the audience to enjoy; including songs that audiences have heard and loved for years. Relapse’s song list reaches back to the rock and roll roots of the ‘60’s all the way through to today, so that everyone who comes recognizes a favorite of theirs. When Relapse plays, it is hard to find room on the dance floor.

This evolving band has found a solid niche in the local music scene and is very well known around Denver. Its high energy always provides a fun night out for you and your favorite friends.
