Straight Nerdy Like A Cool Kid
A fresh face to the Denver music scene,
Straight Nerdy has nothing less to offer than
THE most incredibly fun and musically
energized live show in the state, hands
down. With a sound comparable to
Paramore and No Doubt, their powerful
music and rich vocals will send vibrations
down your spine. Straight Nerdy has already
proven themselves worthy of drawing a large,
diverse crowd to their shows at which every
single attendee has left the show as a newly
diagnosed Straight "Nerdaholic", drooling at
the mouth in hopes of more music from the
band.

The straight nerds are:
Kayla Marque (vocals + piano)
Olivia Rudeen (guitar + vocals)
James Normandin (bass)
Jordan Ast (Drums)

A totally rad music band from Denver. We make electronically-produced, classically-informed, jazz-inspired hi-lo-fi indie/rock/rap/trip-hop/punk/electro/pop. Blues. And yet, it sounds so cohesive. Organic too. And also totally original, you've never heard anything like this before. But it's also really easy to dance to, too, cuz everything is all in 4/4 and it's all very diatonic and pretty and melodic and catchy as all hell and with awesome lyrics, too. Even ex-born again Christian lesbian moms can't stop singing these satisfying hooks. That's right, moms like it. It's that totally rad.

Brent Joyce & The Double D's
We all remember that first song in our lives that we heard fully and whole-heartedly, that song that seemed to be written intentionally for our ears to hear at that precise moment. The emotional connection made in that minute portion of our existence follows us the rest of our journey on this planet. This emotional connection to a musician's song is what drives Brent's creativity for the eardrums of humanity. Infusing every melody with passion, scribing every lyric with meaning and strumming each chord with unyielding creativity, Brent's music is an unequivocal reflection of who he is and the messages he wishes to convey to fellow minds enduring the adventure of life. Brent sees silence as his canvas and paints his music to fill the empty space creating vibrant expressions of sound. Brent's sonic paintings are only rivaled by the hopeful and uplifting messages woven throughout his lyrics. With an enduring and dynamic voice that perfectly compliments his strong melodies, those lyrics take on a life of their own that serve to inspire individuals who take time to listen. So gander a chance to indulge in the music of Brent Joyce and you might just find inspiration yourself.

Denver's acoustic music scene just got a big boost of soul in newcomer Brent Joyce.

The young North Carolina native has opened for the late folk icon Doc Watson and played for crowds ranging from five people to 3,000.

Sounding a bit like a cross between John Mayer and Dave Matthews with the weightiness of Jack Johnson, Joyce's album Out of the City, showcases strong chords and a mature sound that surpasses his 27 years. But, young at heart, he's still not afraid to throw some rap-turned-acoustic curveballs when he plays live either.

He'll be playing at Herman's Hideaway July 19.

Electro-pop out of Denver, inspired both by modern bands such as The Naked & Famous, OneRepublic, M83, and more locally, Roniit; and also by 80's electronic acts such as Ultravox, Depeche Mode and Alphaville.

Adrienne met Tad Michael Wheeler when Tad found her online while looking for session vocalists. Connecting immediately over discussions of Ibiza, Paul Oakenfold, and Tiesto, they collaborated to record an electronic pop/dance tune called Shades of Blue (available for free at http://shadesofblue.viinyl.com/). Not long after, Adrienne met Justin Leighton Long when he joined her cover band, Urban Dance Theory, as lead guitarist after moving to Denver from Florida.

Justin, previously signed and touring with the band No Address under Atlantic Records, provides harmonies and textures for AdrienneO's music via guitar, keys, and samples. Tad, who once turned down a touring stint opening for Journey in favor of getting an engineering degree, provides the grounded, danceable groove along with Adrienne on bass.
