The Westcoastless Crew
The Westcoastless Crew
The Westcoastless Crew is a cross of Reggae and Punk/Rock with a touch of Hip-Hop. Formed on October of 2011, The Crew was just a bunch of "American Reggae" fans who knew that was a sound we loved and related to so why not do it right, with a touch of aggression(sounds like an oxymoron but give us a listen and you'll love it)! Our front man, Chance Douglas, moved from California to Colorado in 2011. After moving he started writing songs for his second solo release. Local radio station Mile High Underground began playing these songs on air. Chance then had to begin recruiting for a live band. This brought in long time friend and band-mate Anthony Eddins, an amazing guitar player taking lead in the crew.

New friend and Colorado native J.J. Leonasty playing percussion and filling the shoes as backing vocals. Also coming to the table was Chopper (Arthur Lawrence) on drums and vocal percussion/backing vocals and Danimal Ollila on bass. When the two of them joined us the sound clicked and we knew we were ready! Soon after the offers for live gigs began flowing in. T.W.C. has everything we need. And out of the basement would rise the newest and hottest rock/reggae/hip hop group to hit Colorado!!!
Tim Yunker & The Sound Junkies
Tim Yunker & The Sound Junkies
Tim Yunker and Alex Buxton are Colorado Natives. They attended the same high school, but rarely associated with each other... Until 2008. Tim Yunker and Alex Buxton united to create a sound that can only be described as unique. The two performed throughout Colorado and recorded the album "Duck and Cover" in late 2009. It soon became obvious that the band wouldn't proceed much further without a drummer. Tim received an e-mail one day from Chris Winslow who claimed to know all of the duo's songs and was interested in the position. He's been the Sound Junkie drummer ever since. Coming from New Hampshire, Chris brought a powerful mix of east coast percussion to the project . Being an incredibly versatile drummer, Chris conceived a style all his own that can only apply to the Sound Junkie mission. The ever-expanding project aims to bring something entirely new to the entertainment industry, both audibly and psychologically. The new al bum "Microphones Don't Lie" has been recorded and will soon be released. Microphones do not lie, so pick up the album and see what they picked up.
Drop Switch
Drop Switch
Drop Switch is a modern sound hailing from Denver, Colorado. Fusing hip-hop, rock and soul, it is their high energy level and uniquely fresh blend of styles that brings this group to the next level. A Denver non-profit, Helping Hands, had this to say about Drop Switch."This solid six-piece is representing Denver in a smooth and sophisticated way that will soon be turning heads."

These six musicians are set apart by their intricate original material laced with complex rhythmic subtleties. This group is led by the soulful bluesy voice of Emma Wallingford who can be compared to the likes of Adele. Along side is Sheldon "Logistixx" Valdez, giving the group a whole new dimension with his creative lyricism and rhythmic flow. The driving force is without a doubt the rhythm section led by the tight drumming of Collin Mcnellis. Zach Hislop’s bass lines perfectly sync with the punchy kick drum creating one tightly knit machine. The melodic fretwork by Alex Hawley and Chris Overlid tie everything together for one diverse, cutting edge group.

Through excellent musicianship and flavor, Drop Switch ensures that even the narrowest musical tastes will be satisfied. This is sure not to be the last time you hear of this up and coming group.

Bandwagon Magazine
Having played all the major venues in town a dozen times over the Squid Kids are a band slowly stepping away from the standard hip-hop and rap sound prominent in northern Colorado. Originally from Greeley, the band started as a spontaneous jam between Will "MC Grape" Duran and drummer Tom Martinez in 2007 for a previous project called The Real Deal Holifield. Within a day, the band was formed after a few old friends got in the mix and The Squid Kids were born at a house party that night where they played their first gig. It wasn't too long after that that the band was gigging regularly to crowds all over Greeley. The lineup changed a few times over the years, but the foundations settled with Duran on vocals, Martinez on drums, Luis "Penguin" Morales playing bass, Hector "Alessandro Han Solo" Lopez on rhythm guitar and Carlos "Guitarlos" Gutierrez on lead. Under this arrangement, the band got their start playing at venues refined their sound and set their roots. Recently, Morales stepped out and has been replaced by local favorite Chris "Silky chanh" Manichanh, but this hasn't slowed them down. Manichanh has quickly filled the shoes left for him as they move forward towards bigger gigs in Denver and the recording of their EP. What sets The Squid Kids apart is that they are a band first and not just a rapper with a band. Musically, they have found a happy medium between intensity of the band and the space provided for the emcee to breathe. No one person is trying to steal the show because if they did, the sound they are going for wouldn't jive. The Squid Kids obviously work well together in this way, because their fun-loving attitude translates nicely to their audiences and above else, they are determined to have a good time. The Squid Kids are an exciting band with hip hop about real life and the stories we know from our own experiences. Although the full hip hop band is nothing new, the way they do it is wholehearted. They put on no airs of grandeur with songs that are simple and honest. This is what appeals to the music lovers because they make no attempt to be anything other than themselves on stage. The band's easy grooves lay down nicely under the pretenses of Duran's songs creating a down-to-earth feeling that most bands are unable to produce. Duran's lyrics are poignant and relatable but obviously work best in their current setting. The Squid Kids did not reach their current position overnight though, as the guys have seen their fair share of ups and downs. At one point the loss of their former bassist, Penguin had a major impact on the band. These are obstacles that they have learned to overcome, as their prospects for the future are brighter than ever, and they continue to keep working towards a bigger name for themselves. These guys are yet more proof that a band can do big things even in a town like Greeley. All it takes is some dedication, lots of practice, and gigging wherever there is room to play. Make sure to check them out when you get a chance, because Greeley will not have them forever. The Squid Kids
