There must be something about the heat of the desert that makes the music sound so sweet. SoCals High Desert acoustic band, Waiting for Decay (WFD), has been banging out the tunes on the stage and on the airwaves for four years now. Starting as a coffee shop side project for metal vocalist Dewayne Clifton, the acoustic approach progressed into a full fledged rock band that can rival most hardcore groups, but still appeal to larger radio friendly audience. Turning the heads and ears of thousands of fans across the globe, WFDs style of music branches from soulful ballads to the full scream of metal. Backed by guitarists Michael Zepol and Aaron Bright, Bassist Dace Pearson, and percussionist James Cottrell, the music is blended with a wide range of influences. Trickles of country, blues, bluegrass, flamenco, metal, and good ole rock and roll find their way into this ecliptic mix. WFD has been on the interview circuit and showcased on hundreds of Podcasts, traditional, internet and Sirius Satellite radio programs. Having performed on bills ranging from singer songwriters showcases, coffee shop venues, to Sunset Strip clubs (Viper Room, Roxy, Cat Club, etc). WFD can fit any type of booking. While still holding on to the traditional purity of acoustic music, Waiting for Decay has adapted a Rock Show attitude whenever they perform. Bringing audiences to the edge of their seat and holding them there for the entire show. More recently, Waiting for Decay has affiliated them selves with endorsements, promotional, and performance agreements with Mentat Records, Horns High, DeadRinger Jewelry, Stygma, GigStools, Sexhair Ltd, Labeled by Society apparel. This has allowed Waiting for Decay print media exposure in several magazines. Whether interacting with WFD fans on Myspace, or at any show, one thing is clear, WFD will grab you and will not let go.
