The Fong Jones Band
The Fong Jones Band has been performing their original songs throughout Denver since
their inception in 2002. As lead singer, Derrick Camasso’s lyrics take you on a twisted journey
through his past while rhythm guitarist Jody Calhoun brings melodic dimension, painting
diverse and illustrious scenes. Lead guitarist Glen Blair (formerly of Devouring Saturn),
drummer/ percussionist Jay Ruybal (formerly of Zen Barons), and
bass/Scott Hadden (Zen Barons) were added to the lineup earlier last year, all bringing
their creative minds to the forefront.
The Fong Jones Band has performed at venues ranging from Red Rocks Amphitheatre to
The Soiled Dove (in downtowns Lower Downtown District) and continue to enjoy capturing
new audiences of all ages and backgrounds with their storytelling songs evoking
heart-felt tragedy in every word.
The members of Fong Jones have been fortunate enough to share stages at many venues
with talented artists ranging from solo acts to national bands. The Fong Jones Band has
captivated many audiences with their unique sound, hoping to share their stories with
many more. With a uniquely deep and raspy voice, Derrick Camasso penetrates listeners’
ears, sharing the stories of sorrow and lessons learned. While Derrick has found a way to
capture emotions in audiences from all walks of life, Jody’s addictive rhythms and
spiritually- cleansing acoustic harmonies use sweeping strokes of imagination to take
listeners on an intense journey. Glenn’s melodies evoke the tension and release the
full, lush emotions into the forefront of the mind.
