Sid Madrid
Greetings to you the world. My name is Sid Madridand i am a multi-talented producer and performing artist based out of the the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado. MY style is a Hip Hop based multi-genre exploration of sound, culture and technology. I began MY musical journey at the young age of nine, when I learned to play drums in the DPS inner city weekend music program. By age thirteen I was experimenting with drum machines and turntables, beginning to collaborate with fellow musicians, and receiving instruction from Denver Jazz legend Rod Buckner(Buckner Funken Jazz). The ensuing teenage years would prove to be ripe with creativity, as numerous musical incarnations surfaced. Between playing basement shows with death metal bands, producing countless Hip Hop tracks at both CEC and “The Meth-lab”(My former makeshift studio) I was staying busy. In the spring of 2005, I Joined Forces with a group of lifetime friends and musicians and formed DJ Slammy Jammy 1-2 Skee, a Hip Hop Funk Reggae group that would go on to win the first annual taste of Westminster and play show’s all over the Denver metro area with such bands as P-Knuckle, Umconcious and Judge Roughneck. After two years of performing with DJSJ12S, I began to concentrate on Beat Composition and Hip Hop. In the Fall of 2007, I joined forces with Denver Emcees U.T.I.C.A., and Iron Microphone of the Dode City namesake, and began working on the follow up to U.T.I.C.A.‘s debut album “Inhalation”. I am currently wrapping up production on U.T.I.C.A.’s “The Late Show” and “Those grim times” with the Good Grime Sound System and beginning the long awaited Mixtape’s Most Wanted Volume 3, while simultaneously composing original Hip Hop beats that will appear on Calebkai’s album “TRADEWINDS” and Solace’s album “THOUGHTS”. I am also making a Dubstep album and recording a Hip Hop album entitled "LIFE"S MUSIC".
