Mezclazon
Composed of musicians from Brazil, France, El Salvador and the United States, Mézclazón is a Denver-based band whose concept and name are one: “mixture of rhythms”. With hoe, shovel and rake in hand, Mézclazón tills the rich and fertile soils of the folkloric traditions of the West, where European, African and Amerindian cultures blend and cross-pollinate the rhythmic garden of musical creativity. Mézclazón seeks not only to explore the musical and aesthetic variation within this new global community in which we live; this group of artists yearns to “break free from the cultural barriers separating musical traditions…”, and reach that magical place where a simple and sublime melody unfolds out of a crystalline harmony, where thought has no meaning, and bodies can only respond with dancing.
