Melanie Susuras Band

The Melanie Susuras Band is the perfect blend of catchy songwriting, breathtaking vocal talent and dazzling musicianship. Whether it be an all-out rockin’ full-band show or an intimate acoustic performance, the fire and passion comes through loud and clear. Equal parts acoustic folk, rock, funk and blues add up to create a uniquely listenable and extremely danceable sound.
MSB formed in May 1999 and burst onto the Denver music scene with the recording of their first CD, “Barefoot Again.” That summer, they found themselves sharing the stage with Sheryl Crow, The Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan and The Dixie Chicks when they were awarded the honor of playing the 1999 Lilith Fair. Not a bad start for this acoustic driven rock band!
Since then, MSB has made many more guest appearances with a variety of acts including Tab Benoit, Patrice Pike, Michelle Malone, Allison Moorer, Darden Smith, Stacy Earle, Lowen and Navarro, Styx & Peter Frampton.
MSB continues to flourish as one of the Denver-area’s favorite original acts. Band leader/singer/guitarist Melanie Susuras has a vocal power that is both unique and heart felt. The band plays with a rare energy and conviction with the sultry vocals of newest member, Amanda on backing vocals, skilled guitar leads from Eddie Garcia, solid low-end from Jon Burquest on bass guitar, and David Derby is the heartbeat of MSB on drums and percussion.
This lineup has caught the attention of MSB fans and crowds grow with each new show. The local music scene is also taking note with thanks to Chris K.; www.rockoncolorado.com has MSB listed as one of the top five “Acoustic Rock Bands”. In addition, Melanie was honored as one of the five “favorite front girls.”
