composing primarily from the piano and from handmade beats, jen pumo creates music that is melodic, articulate and cinemascopic. enjoying influences from folk to idm, the fusion within her work intimates sincere focus and artistry. her voice is sultry, soothing and humane. she lays bare her questions and assertions in a manner that is at once philosophical and longing. *********** Now living in majestic Colorado, I grew up in Miami, where the frenetic and colorful cultural condition inspired me to find my own voice. My relationship with the piano began at eleven. In this I began to cultivate the finesse and ability to express my feelings and manifest my wishes. My first love, the piano allows my genuine voice to sound. College eventually produced a degree in philosophy and led me to the guitar and djembe as more portable vehicles of expression. I began writing and performing my own songs to understand and create my life. Drawing inspiration and influence from all aspects of life and nature, my musical influences are varied and multitudinous but my favorites include Clara Ponty, Radiohead and the Smashing Pumpkins, the incomparable lyrical mastery of Bob Dylan, and the passion of Indian ragas. I am devoted to the liberation and spirituality of the creative process. With my genuine desire for authentic expression, I hope to inspire and encourage the sharing and exciting of personal passion. October marked the release of my first album, All Over The Moon, which I co-wrote and co-produced with my dear friend the insurmountable Graham Pearce. The album has received very good reviews so far and we are so pleased that it is providing deep enjoyment and healing for so many people.
