Jazz del Barrio
This combo can play in a quiet background music type setting as a duo or trio, or in a nightclub with a full band pumping out danceable smooth jazz and funky latin/r&b favorites, including original compositions.

Manuel Roybal is an actor and musician who has been in theater, films and TV. He has also been in various types of bands for more than 30 years.
Vince Vigil, who has also been in various types of bands for almost as long, has played in bands and theatrical performances with Manuel for the past seven years.
Manuel has long expressed that his ideal band would be able to play jazz as well as latin music. (So he can feature his chord melody guitar style ala Benson). Early in 2006 Manuel and Vince put together such a band when they added an experienced conguero, Nelson Soto.
Trent Hines joined mid 2006 on keyboards to expand the versatility, with various drummers sitting in for larger gigs. Until Mark Aguilar joined full time on drums in early 2007.
Mark worked with Manuel and Vince in a previous band and in a theatrical performace of “Stories On Stage”. Now was the time for a full time drummer since the larger venues and the full Latin Jazz/Fusion/Funk/R&B sound was being requested the most.
To go along with the demand, a fabulous vocalist was added named Martin Soto. (No relation to Nelson except fellow Boriqua). Next step is to record an new original CD in the near future. Keep and ear out.
This band now has the ability to play any size venue. Give us a big enough stage and enough budget and we can even add a horn section. And we can still play as a jazz trio or quartet.
