So InQuE began as a half assed idea between two newly acquainted friends…Damien Cordova and Shawn McGuffin. Damien revealed one day that he had played guitar for a year or so, which led Shawn to lie and say that he knew how to play drums…and the idea to begin a band was planted in their minds. Shawn decided to volunteer his younger brother, Mykel, for the role of rythmic guitarist since his original instrument of choice (Bass) was taken by Damien’s younger brother Cameron. Cameron’s presence in the band was shortlived and he left before Shawn and Mykel had even had their instruments. This was the first of a long list of bassists for InQuE…including: Derek Huntley, Orlando Cerda, and finally Josh ‘big dick’ Munoz(who had originally planned on joining as the singer, then guitarist, and finally bassist.). After years of searching the beleagured members of Inque finally found their bassist in fellow Eye of Terror Veteran Josh Munoz…Josh had stood valiantly alongside two other InQuE members in the Imperium’s attempt to push back the 13th crusade of Abaddon the Despoiler(except Damien, he helped Abaddon). Josh had everything the band needed: funk, cool, low end… All of which served to progress the band towards their first serious songs. Inque also had a short series of singers. Derek tried singing but could not fit what the band needed in a singer (he later went on to sing for Last Rites, who are not around anymore). Then came Matt Stoaks, who had some choral training, but lacked the drive or (frankly) the voice. Josh also tried, but he lacked that certain swagger…finally we realized that Damien would work just fine as a singer…he had the attitude, the scream, and he also had an assload of issues to write about. And the modern incarnation of InQuE was complete: Damien Cordova, Shawn McGuffin, Mykel McGuffin, and Josh Munoz. Breaking new ground with music that sounds just like everything else coming out of the states today… fitting the bill as the stereotypical hard rock act that a bunch of kids can hurt each other too. Though that is just the bands opinion of themselves… Even after hearing praise from numerous local bands they’ve had the pleasure to play with, and their fans. And after a good 6 years in the making, their first CD has been released! A nine track offering to the sonic gods called Daddy Was a Turkey Baster…hit ’em up if you want one. Show some support. Thank you Ave Atque Vale.
