Hierophant is a combination of greek, latin and babalonian words meaning a spiritual leader or guide.
Progressive is such a broad term that brings to mind such bands as Tool, Rush, Opeth , and the Mars Volta. Hierophant very much embodies this tradition with inflections of blues, heavy metal, jazz, classical and funk.
Hierophant is the offspring of four like minded individuals who set out to do one thing, create art. Sam hails from the brutal barren landscape of Illinois. Paul from the future sight of arizona bay, LA. From worldwide exposure to violence and culture is Nick. Tom was spawned from a floundering music scene in the mile high city. Together they are the limbs of a soul known as Hierophant.
