One cloudy ominous day, in a dark dungeon in the mythological town of Golden, CO, a relationship was born that would form GNOBS. Rance DeJong a guitarist and sometimes retail lackey was given the chance to play bass for his retail handlers on the stage of the hard rock in Vegas. He was sent, with limited strings (the Bass), to grind away at a cover song so retarded it hurt. In the mean time Christopher Smith, another retail lackey was found out to have just enough drumming skill to also be sent into retail variety show hell and be sent to a stage way to big for his little skill. While practicing, in what was then, the hidden back room of the Rock Rest, a jam based in some Eric Clapton song(lost to memory) a bond was formed. After doing our commercial duty, it was decided that they would continue on as the group known as MONIKER. Moniker was a 50/50 cover/ original band, with routes in blues and straight up rock and or roll. Fronted by Jack Miller, and backed by a few different guitarists, found them selves playing many a local show. Finding a like minded Guitarist and music aficionado, Ken Brankin, Moniker soon started to experiment with sounds and ambience. This new direction started to outgrow Monikers basic roots. Soon after Moniker dissolved, but Rance Chris and Ken continued as a trio. After Chris met the love of his life, he soon found out that her best friend was a ROCK GAWD! Mike Stever and his assortment of songs, lyrics, and his amazing voice and guitar work became a catalyst for what is GNOBS. After fine tuning what is GNOBS, we are ready to unleash this unholy group on the world!!!
