Backpack Symphony

Backpack Symphony is comprised of two emcees, M.O.N.E.Y and Mugshott Grinz. M.O.N.E.Y and Mugshott Grinz are Boulder locals who met in high school in 2000. They were instantly aware of the capabilities they had to collaborate on a very versatile array of hard hitting, up in your face, heady hip-hop. Both artists have a long story behind them yet remained avidly involved in the hip-hop scene long before the creation of their latest project, “The Deuce Mob,” due out late fall. Backpack Symphony is extremely persistent about remaining hop hip to the core. Armed to the teeth with artillery of not only lyrical power, break dancing and beat boxing; but graphic art as well. They have spent over a decade channeling every bit of their focus towards every outlet that hip-hop seems to provide. By no means are M.O.N.E.Y or Mugshott willing to stray away from hip hop’s gritty roots as they continue to develop a craft that has such an ambitious attack that has been somewhat lost in translation. Backpack Symphony’s latest project has yet to be released and is sure to deliver the very essence of uncut, self-directed potential in their new album “The Deuce Mob.” M.O.N.E.Y and Mugshott have done the footwork necessary to bring their music to the table as a strict representation of their lives’ from every angle. Both emcee’s consider the struggles they have gone through to be an everlasting opportunity for internalization and therefore, outward expression. With one objective in mind (bringing the blue collar rappers of the world to the forefront of the underground scene) Backpack Symphony continues to spend hours twisting knobs and defining a craft that is sure to ambush those who neglect hip hop’s original essence and true intentions bringing it’s integrity back into light.
